Real coins.
Clear credits.

The NumisTrends silver-coin reference uses six representative coin photographs. Each photograph retains its own creator credit and underlying license. These are educational examples, not NumisTrends sale inventory or authentication evidence.

Sharing the reference sheet

You may share the NumisTrends reference artwork and layout with NumisTrends attribution and the photo credits retained. Keep the identification cautions and source information with the graphic. Underlying photographs remain subject to the licenses below; this permission does not replace those terms or grant ownership of the photos.

The NumisTrends logo identifies the source of the reference. It is a brand mark, not an endorsement by any photographer, mint or grading service. For another use, contact NumisTrends.

Obverse shown. The large P, D or S used to identify a silver-alloy wartime issue is on the reverse above Monticello. Not every 1942 nickel contains silver.

The photograph's license is separate from the public-domain status of the coin design. The reference uses a small image because the original photograph has limited resolution.

This use selects the CC BY-SA 3.0 option from the photograph's original dual-license offering. A public-domain coin design does not make this photograph public domain.

A 1964 example illustrates the 90% silver issue. It should not be used to identify the later 40% issues by portrait alone.

The 1968 example represents the 1965–1970 40% silver group. It is not presented as a photograph of a 1970 issue.

Selected S-mint collector issues contain 40% silver. An S alone does not establish silver content; for example, 1973-S proofs can be clad or silver.

What changed in the images?

The earlier site reference files were cropped, resized or padded from their source photographs. The downloadable SVG retains those exact photo bytes and places them proportionally in the layout. No coin detail was painted, generated, recolored or retouched for the reference sheet, and no new crop or mask was applied.

The PNG is a rendering of that SVG. Its renderer required a lossless image-format conversion; equality of the decoded photo pixels was checked before rendering. The original photograph licenses remain attached to the corresponding photos and their adaptations.

For the three CC BY-SA 3.0 photographs, retain attribution, source and license information and indicate changes. Any adaptation of a photograph must comply with that photograph's ShareAlike terms. Public-domain and CC0 images retain their stated status. This mixed-rights reference is not a blanket claim that NumisTrends owns every photograph.

About the auction-cost poster

The separate auction-cost poster is a conceptual illustration with a generic illustrative coin, not a photograph of an offered coin. Its figures are fictional: $315 + $6 = $321, compared with $305 + $20 = $325. The lower bid costs $4 more overall. Price alone does not establish condition, authenticity or collector value. The approved NumisTrends logo was supplied as an identity reference for this composition.
